I have been building bird houses as a hobby for about 25 years. Most of them are made with rough cut 1"x 12" pine lumber purchased from a local saw mill. They come in a variety of colors and can be customized to your liking. I also customize mangers with real stained glass windows lighted inside. Some of the add-ons to the bird houses are purchased at ac Moore and Michaels. These bird houses should be hung on a tree or back yard shed in early spring. You will get a family within 2-3 weeks. Some people feel they are too nice to put outside and display them indoors. They all come with an attached stainless steel hook for hanging.
